Newark Liberty International Airport to use satellite navigation system

NewArk Liberty Internation Airport will soon start to pilot the new Satellite Navigation System design to reduce the delays in the flights.. good news!, it is going to be first airport in the US to test the GBAS - Ground Base Augmentation System. :-) This is supposedly will ease the air traffic congestions and allow planes to fly side by without compromisng on any of the safety measures. This was part of the implementations to the suggestions and recommendations made by the New York Port Authority and New Jersey's Flight Delay Task Force. New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International airport will be the first U.S. airport to adopt a new navigation system that uses satellites and ground-based antennas to replace radar-based technology that dates back to World War Two, the airport-owning agency said on Wednesday.
